SNOW and pretending

Hello! We've been snowed in the last few days and had some fun adventures outside. Some adventures were not so fun. Why did I think it would be fun for little guy to play in snow higher than his boots? It was fun to go on a walk this weekend with the whole family when the snow was a little lower. Margot looks adorable all bundled up in her pink snowsuit (thank you again, Audrey!) and is being a great sport.
I feel like Nash has suddenly grown out of all of his toys and I need all new ones for him. He's doing a lot of pretending and imagining and figuring things out. His Handy Manny tool set is now serving double duty as not only a shape sorter and music box, but his go-to repair kit... and what do you know, everything in this house suddenly needs repairing! Nash is great with his screwdriver.
Also making him some pretend toys, including the little pizza. He's way into pizza lately. He's playing with and loving the cupcake shape sorters. They're definitely more complex than any of the other shape sorters we've given him to play with. He's really lighting up when I show him new challenges!

Not to be outdone, Margot is getting prettier :) and looking all around and grabbing at things and laughing and smiling at everyone. I keep trying to take some videos but she's so distracted by the camera and the lights and instantly stops whatever cute thing she's doing. I'll keep trying!

The Streak

Oh yes, they call him The Streak, fastest thing on two feet...

he's just as proud as he could be...

...He's gonna give us a peek!

(This is pretty much a daily occurence, but it's hard to catch The Streak on camera.)

Play Stroller

Man are they having awesome sales now on toys at Target. I got Nash (and Margot) a play stroller and Nash's eyes lit up after I put it together when he realized what it was. Pushing things is so exciting!! So Cookie Monster has had a fun morning. He got to ride around in the stroller, and then Nash shared his bagel with him too! Of course I'm already thinking about sewing a new cover for the stroller, I don't think a bunny family is edgy enough for Nash :) And where was Margot during all this, you ask? In her crib asleep, of course! A girl needs her beauty sleep.

Keeping me busy

Margot's doing really well getting on a regular sleep schedule during the day, and hopefully at night too. Last night she slep from 8 to 5, then until 8 this morning. I reaaally needed the sleep. She's also giggling and bringing her hands together and looking around everywhere. She's doing great and it's amazing to see her learning so mmuch and getting big so quickly!!

The weather yesterday was beautiful so I tried to get Nash out and wear him down, but I also exhausted myself. We went to the store, then to the park, then to play with trains. Also, Nash has discovered ketchup. Except I'm not really giving it to him because it doesn't make him eat the food. He sucks it off!!

Bbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Margot's doing fine, her cough and nose have cleared up. She's a great baby, spends most of the day checkin things out, looking around, kicking her legs, smiling and cooing.
It's so cold here we haven't spent any time outside recently. Marji and Maya have been over the last two days and kept us sane. And we went to play with Brie and Alex this afternoon (I thought if we went out around 1 and played until 4, we would come home and Nash would be so exhausted he would immediately fall asleep. He was completely exhausted, but worked himself up into a frenzy quickly, and it's still going.) We're going to have to start braving the indoor play places again before long, I think we're all tired of being in the house.

Happy New Year!

OK we're a little late wishing everyone a happy new year. That's what happens when you are chasing around a runny nose and doing your best to keep another one from getting runny. We're all getting well now though. FINALLY. I feel like I've been cooped up for 2 weeks and I think maybe Nash is getting tired of being inside too.

I'm not sure if it's inspired by his sickness when he wasn't eating much for a few days, but he's eating like a champ now! He used to be a great eater, but had scaled back on things he'd try. Now he's back full force. Here's a picture of him devouring the smoked salmon cream cheese off of a bagel!

And just in case you think his hair is always wild and crazy, it's not true! I do brush it after his bath and he looks so handsome! And it stays neat like that for about half an hour or so.

Margot's hangin in there. It's been rough on the little one to be so stuffy. But luckily she never developed a temperature and her mood stayed happy throughout her sickness. She's definitely a mellow one. Here's Miss Margot looking lovely.

And a cute one of her napping on the big lion. (He's very popular in this house.)

Part of being sick is having good snuggle time. The sickies are no fun, but we could all use more hugs!

With everyone well again I hope we'll get to be out and about and playing with everyone again soon!
