Things I forgot earlier

It's been too long since I've blogged, I meant to say more about Nash and I forgot. We noticed a few nights ago that he was very proud of himself for stacking things and setting toys on top of higher toys or table. He'll examine a toy closely and gently set it on top of something else. And then he'll kind of smack his arms by his side in excitement. Also, today I hung some toy keys from a knob on his dresser and he played for a good 10 minutes taking them off the knob and trying to put them back up. His concentration amazes me, it's definitely better than mine! Here are some pictures we just took of Nash and his baseball hat. The new development here is that he always pulls hats off of his head as soon as we put them on him. Tonight he took it off, played with it and put it back on. And repeated the same for another 5-10 minutes.

Da Dow

These days Nash has two responses to everything we say to him. Do you want more applesauce? Dada. Say Mama. Da Dow. Why won't you say Mama? Dada! It's only fun on Saturday morning when I ask, who should go to work today? DA DOW! Lack of motherly love aside, Nash is doing great. He cruises from us to the chair to the table and other chair and back again. He likes to stand alone without holding onto anything, but can't do it for very long. (He's sitting next to me while I type playing with mail and rings and handing them to Ray saying "Da dow!") Then he falls and bangs something. He handles it well though. He doesn't really dig his jumperoo anymore, it's not nearly as exciting as checking out whatever that thing is over there on the floor. He's crawling towards the stairs. Maybe it's time to teach stairs.

Big Boy Jammies

We suddenly realized one night last week that all of Nash's sleepers are too small. Yay! Shopping time! With a whole new collection of jammies, Nash is proudly displaying his first night of 2 piece pajamas. We got him a few of the footed onesies too, but it seems like they make less of them for little men his size. So here's Nash, fresh from the bath, in his new bulldog pjs.

New Toy!

Just what Nash needs! Lots of presents from Maeme and G and us for Hanukkah, but here's one of Nash playing with a new one from Auntie Pam and Uncle Huppa. Bee Bop Band! So cute!

Haircut!

Nash is officially a member of the Divas n Dudes haircut club! Nash was great. We went and he sat in a Hummer and munched on a few cheerios while Ms. Jennifer cut his hair. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and was a lot of fun. Nash looks so much older now that he has a big boy haircut, I have to keep reminding myself that he's only 10 months old (well, almost 10 months). Maeme and G are here tonight and we all swapped presents for Hanukkah and ate potato latkes. Nash is getting good at singing along while we light the candles. Tomorrow I go to work and everyone will join me for lunch. Don't feel too sorry for me, I get to sneak out a little early :)

Big Lip

Check out Nash's fat lip! He was crawling over me and went face first onto the wood floor. He's fully recovered, except for his self-esteem.

Nash in Brites

Just trying out my new photo program. This is my first one altered!

Nash Crazy Laughing

Nash is laughing at Ray shaking his head back and forth. You gotta love the things babies find funny.

Video Trouble

I think you can't see the video because we have windows vista so the videos aren't RealPlayer. Anyway, this is too good to miss so I'm posting it on YouTube and will do a link to the page. Write again soon.

Nash's Great Laugh

Here's a video from earlier tonight. Nash gets into giggle fits whenever he feels like it. We have no idea what we're doing that's making him laugh, but we always keep doing it! In this video Nash was watching Ray shake his head back and forth. Before I ran to get the camera we were all laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes!

Stand in the place where you live

Here's Nash standing! Last night Ray was holding his hands while he was standing up and he forcefully threw Ray's hands away and stood on his own. Triumphant! He likes climbing up but doesn't seem to want us holding him up. He's really great at giving it a shot on his own. He loves standing up in his crib and falling on his little tush. Weeks are going to fast, I guess because of the holidays and my work schedule. Thanksgiving seems like such a long time ago already. I'll try to post more. Happy almost December!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Let me preface this by saying that while we've had a very exciting, fun week with Nash, Ray and I have also had our minds on something so sad it's hard to even think about. Ray's adorable 2 year old nephew Parker has been sick with leukemia and passed away this weekend. If anyone is inclined, his family is asking for donations to be made to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Volusia County, c/o The Underwood’s, 305 E. International Speedway Blvd, Suite 2-197, Deland, FL 32724. On to Nash. Nash is so strong and learns so quickly, it seems like there is a new accompishment every day. He is chatting away saying Mama, Dada, baby boy, and me me me me me. He signals when he wants something. He drinks from a sippy cup and through a straw. He pulls himself up on everything and crawls into every space. He wants to eat whatever we're eating. He loves to go on long walks to the river and sit on the rocks and let the sun shine on his face. He loves to shop! He sits in his stroller and takes in everything around him. He's such a smiley guy too. He always returns stranger's smiles. When we go out to eat he sits in his high chair and eats cheerios and plays. He's just so awesome and so easy. We're so lucky!! Here are a bunch of pictures to make up for lost time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Nash can't wait to eat smoked turkey and sweet potatoes and stuffing and cranberry sauce. MMMMmm. We're sorry we didn't get to go to Florida so see Grammy and Grampy and to introduce Nash to his great-Nanny, but we'll make it down soon!

9 month update

I don't have any new pictures because I was working today and got home late :( But I'll give the stats. We went to the doctor Tuesday for Nash's 9 month check up. He weighs 21 lbs, 12 oz, which is 75th percentile, and is 29.75 inches long, 92nd percentile. Head circumf. is 18", 65th percentile. Yay for growth!

Big Day!

We had so much fun today watching Nash! He's crawling around, then wiggles around to a sitting position, then pulls up on whatever he's near and tried to stand. And if he falls back, he doesn't cry when he bonks his head. He rolls back onto his tummy and rolls again! I think he's spending more time crawling on his knees after watching Eliza crawling around on hers. Maybe he's almost done with Commando-style? Nash is going to the Doctor Tuesday for his 9 month check up.

Camera's Back!

It's back from repair so I can continue taking thousands of pictures a day. Here are some photos of Nash in a few snazzy outfits. Also, I've just gotten into shoes for him. He has had the Umi Puggles, but I never realized the delightfulness of Robeez until this last week. Kind of funny though, people say they're so great because babies can't take them off. That's true, but they can still put them in their mouths! Anyway, Nash has 2 pairs of Robeez now. One with Mocha-looking doggies on them, and these :) And look how blue those sparkling eyes are!

Sitting up

Nash has been pulling himself to sit the last three mornings in his crib. I have pictures, but am just writing quickly before work. Here's a groovy license plate we saw at Target yesterday!

Feeding myself

For about the last 2 weeks Nash has been trying to grab his bottle from me every morning, and playing with it when he's done eating. Tonight I let him go ahead and drink his bottle holding it by himself. He did great! We've been practicing more with the sippy cup, so I'm sure that helps too. Also, we just put Nash to sleep an hour later than usual, so hopefully he'll adjust to the time change. He wanted to wake up this morning at 6:20, and we went ahead and got up with him. Not much else going on this week. It'll be my 2nd week at work. Yes, I survived the first. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, except just leaving him with Maryah to babysit was hard. This week we'll have in-house babysitters. I think tomorrow we're going to go to the outlets in Williamsburg.

Nash's morning

Nash gave mommy and daddy a new umbrella stroller for their 2 year anniversary today! It's beautiul and silvery! We played this morning around the kitchen, and I ran to grab the camera when Nash started crawling unto the pantry to get the pots and pans, and to look at some of the bottles with the pretty colors in them. Mojito, Margarita, or Appletini?

Nash on the Mall

We took a little trip this weekend to DC. We've been through with Nash so many times, and have been to McLean and Bethesda and Georgetown, but we were waiting for a chance to all go together before going to the National Mall and the Natural History Museum. This morning was the Marine Corps Marathon, so we took the Metro in to avoid traffic, and that was an adventure in itself. There are pictures of us on the metro, looking at Dinosaurs and bundled up walking around!

OK I guess I'm behind the times, but Robin told me today about Picasa, Google's photo center. It's awesome. I was wondering how Gabe had all those cool collages on his blog. Now you can expect many many groovy collages on Nash's blog too. Um not much going on here. We went to the pond this morning and looked at the ducks. I'm finishing Nash's trick-or-treat bag. Still lots of crawling around and trying to stand on his own. I've been working on his baby book, and doing lots of laundry. I hear little man up from his nap now!

Long week

It's been so busy around here, it feels like I got married this weekend and not a friend. But hopefully now we're back to normal and I can get back to blogging. Because I missed Nash getting quick with his hands, our trip to the zoo, and his two new teeth that are through. Unfortunately, in addition to ignoring blog duty, I've also been ignoring cleaning duty. So I'm going to post some pictures and go clean the house. I know, I know, it's the pictures you really want to see anyway, not read. Fine. Here ya go!
