Nash at Octoberfest

Here's a picture of Nash and his Daddy at Capital Ale House last night. We met Mary Ann and Jason and baby Eliza and they gave us super big glasses to drink from. Their lederhosen has inspired me to dress Nash up for Halloween like my Grandpa dressed as a little boy in Vienna. Maybe we could find his? Have a good weekend everyone!

Nash's curly Q

I thought it would be fun to have a poll and I used blogflux.com to make it. But apparently now I can just use blogspot software to do it directly from my page. They stole my idea! Ha. Since I hear some people had problems using the poll feature, I think I'll ditch blogflux and try it again. And, to give you more criteria to base your decision on, I'm posting a picture of the curly Q on the back of Nash's head! Please vote again! Thanks!

BIG DAY

He waved back at me! Like really waved. We've been trying to get him to for a few weeks now and tonight he has great finger movement and waved back at me! I have a video of him waving I'll post. Also, he rode in a shopping cart for the first time today! It was kind of an accident. We went to Target and I walked into the store holding him and was going to put him in the baby-holder cart, but they were all out so I just stuck him in a cart (easier than going back to the car and getting the stroller.) He did totally fine. I didn't have a cart cover though so I picked one up while I was there. Yay Nash!

A good view of those top two

Finally the top two sharpies are big enough to see when he smiles and I can take pictures! No wonder they hurt, those are some big teeth. We put in Nash's convertible car seat this weekend and it dwarfs him. But I guess that's a good thing, since it's supposed to last until he's about 6. It fits well in the car and we like it so far. It's just that the car is so high and with the seat in the middle I have to scott myself up into the car while holding him, and sit on one of the side seats while I get him in. I know he's safest in the middle, but it's kinda difficult to get him in and out. Not because of the seat, just because of the big car. But I don't know what we'd do without a big car... we're already trying to figure out what to do for next year when we're getting a new one. In other news, I'm going to a bachelorette party this weekend in Raleigh, it'll be my first time really leaving him. Sad. Guess he'll have Daddy bonding time.

More teeth... hopefully

If Nash isn't getting some more teeth in right now then I don't know what's wrong with him. The past two days has been constant cyring- real & fake- with only 2 half hour naps, both preceded by 1/2 an hour of wailing in his crib. I'm a little mad at myself for getting short tempered. But that was earlier. Right now I don't care that my new black jacket is covered in messy finger food experiments and slober. Here's Nash in a rare smiley moment this morning, and one of him feeding himself. Cheers to those tiny, cute and painful chompers.

Red suspenders

I'm trying to let Nash practice sitting and let him spend more time not holding him so he can wiggle around and figure out how to crawl but it's hard... I want to hold him all the time! He's having a lot of fun with Elmo, I took more pictures this morning. It's such great weather, we took a walk this morning and I think we'll go walk around the outdoor mall for a little while this afternoon, I have to go to a meeting at work for a few hours and they said I can bring Nash! We'll see how that goes :) Thank you so much, Ashley, for the convertible car seat recommedation, it looks like a good one! We have been looking at this website for the most amazing children's clothes www.chasing-fireflies.com. My new goal is to be able to make baby clothes as beautiful as the ones the sell.

With a little help from my friends

We just celebrated Ray's 30th and enjoyed weddings and having our house rolled and, in turn, rolling our neighbors house. It was great. Maeme and the G Man were here babysitting. Nash is doing a great job sitting on his own. We converted some of his toys from lay down to sitting position. And above you can see that Nash takes after his Daddy with his love of Joe Cocker. Still waiting on one of those bottom teeth to come in, Nash is looking a little lopsided! We think he's so cute. No plans next week- YAY!!

Bagels!

Hi! I think I used to write more because Nash slept more and it was easier. He's definitely not sleeping nearly as much now, which might have something to do with the 4 teeth he's getting in. They're mostly in now though and it's crazy to watch them come up so fast. So he's now also got his top two, and the left one is in next to the bottom two, but the right side is still coming in. He's a champ. I've given him a little medicine when he's been fussier than usual. Poor baby. Also his Grammy was here from Florida and we had a good time at Maymont park and shopping for Halloween costumes. I've been going a little crazy trying to find the best convertible car seat for him. I've been going between the Britax and Sunshine Kids, which folds and would be good for airplane travel. If anyone reading this has any experience with the Sunshine Kids Radian seat please email me! Ray's 30th birthday is Saturday and we're going out today to get him a present from Nash. Enjoy the pictures! There's one of Nash looking especially tubby and cute in his horizontal stripes, one at Maymont, and Nash's incoming bottom tooth. It's hard toget a picture of those top guys!

More teeth, finger food, Grammy and hair

Nash is getting 4 new teeth in now! The two top guys are coming in and the two bottom around the 2 he's already got. So the early part of this week I could tell he wasn't as happy as usual and went ahead and gave him some medicine. His naps were shorter and less frequent. But I think the worst is over now and hopefully soon I'll be able to get some good pictures of those teeth. I worked Sunday and we all went shopping Monday for convertible car seats. It's so hard to decide what to get! There don't really seem to be any that are better than the other, based on the reviews. Still haven't decided. And most of them are freegin ugly, and he's going to have it for like 5 years. Sad. Nash had finger food for the first time today. I gave him some of those puffy sweet potato things that disolve in your mouth, and he picked them up and tried to get them in his mouth. And gave him a cookie/cracker thingy. It turned to mush as he sucked on it and scraped it against his bottom teeth, so those whith week stomachs shouldn't view these pictures. But it's probably too late to warn you now! Nash's Grammy is coming from Florida tomorrow for a few days. I don't think we have any plans. It'll be nice to have some extra hands around. The second picture is trying to show Nash's long hair. We had lunch today with MaryAnn and Jason and Eliza and they were admiring his surfer-boy hair. I can't cut it! It's so long and beautiful!
