Halloween Preview!

We kicked off this long weekend with a little shopping trip and found a Halloween costume for Nash :) Here's a preview! I'm sure you will be seeing many more pictures of Nash as a turtle. And if you live in the St. Louis area, don't be surprised to see a little turtle walking around- I want to dress him in it every day, it's so cute!
We had a fun week, a little laid back as I'm trying to rest my straight up worn-out pregnant body. Oh! How could I forget... Nash had his 18 month appointment Wednesday! He's 27 lbs, 9 oz., 32 inches long, and head circumference is 19 inches. That's 70th percentile for weight, 37th for height (did they measure him right??) and 63rd for his head. These are all within the range of normal, but I was surprised that he's not as big for his age as he used to be. But then I looked at pictures from his 1st birthday party and he had such big baby cheeks then compared to now! I still think he's got great cheeks, it was just amazing how different he looks in 6 months.
Hope everyone has a good, relaxing long weekend! I think we're going to enjoy the festivities around St. Louis. Then next weekend it's off the Nash-ville!!

The little guy playing

By the time I grabbed my camera he'd already gone 2 rounds. He was stepping into it, then ducking his head through the underside and wiggling his way through. Very cat-like. I didn't catch the best of his acts, but still cute.

Grant's Farm and butterfly house

Nash & Mr. Ed!

I could run back and forth through these things all day long! Isn't this fun??

Having a zen moment.

It's always fun to have visitors because it gets us out of our normal play routine. We had a great time yesterday at Grant's Farm looking at the Clydesdales and the other animals. This morning we went to the butterfly house and gardens and nearby playground. We've been lucky the weather's been so nice! Tomorrow we're planning on going to the botanical gardens. Oh, in case it's not obvious, Nash is feeling better! It's so nice to have a healthy little boy again... who just took a 3 hour nap! If you're wondering why Nash is wearing so much orange, it's not because we're trying to do the Mario Batali thing. We were trying to attract the butterflies! But it turns out that those little things are pretty smart- they pretty much steer clear of one and a half year olds.

Under the weather... not that you'd know it

Nash has got some kind of stomach bug. It's not too nasty, but it's not too fun either, and we're going on 3 days now. Mostly he's acting like his normal happy-baby self! He's climbing all over the *$#^(! place and prefers to eat his snack it a big boy chair. Luckily he doesn't mind drinking orange pedialite with it. (Right now he's running in circles around the couch holding his Daddy's belt, and stopping every time he gets to me to say "HI!" before he takes off again.) By the way, who thinks I should cut his hair!? Reveal yourselves! Don't you think it's beautiful?? And if we cut it it won't be this cool when he's hanging upside-down. And he won't make a very good Rambo for Halloween! Just kidding about the Rambo thing. Happy Friday everyone!

A morning at MOBOT!

We don't have mornings out by ourselves very often, so this morning we went to the MO botanical gardens for some q.t. Nash ran through the fountains and climbed on the sculptures!

I think better this way

Here's Nashy and his Dada looking through their legs! This has been a favorite position of Nash's lately. It's a good idea for a baby to step back and get a fresh perspective on things. Nash is very attentive to the camera lately, it's difficult to get a shot from a good angle without him seeing me and stopping what he's doing!
We had another fun weekend shopping for furniture and finding new parks and having friends over for dinner and a few games of pool. The table was delivered Thursday morning; here's Nash making sure those legs are on there good.

Couch potato

This is no lazy couch potato. This is a little man who likes to climb up on the couch without any help from Mommy, and play. Then climb down. Then climb back up. You get the picture. He also looooves to brush his teeth. By himself. And scoot down the stairs. Doesn't want Mommy to carry him anymore. Hmmm I wonder where he gets his independence??
Today we played with Brook, James and Keira and went to the yarn store so we could pick yarn to knit hats for our little guys. It'll be an adventure! Also, our good friends the Athertons in Richmond had a little girl yesterday! Eliza's little sister, Fiona Grace, was born healthy. Congrats and we miss you! Not that you have enough time to be checking out Nash's blog right now :)

The Best Week Ever

This week Maeme got upset with Mommy for not updating Nash's blog while she's in Belguim! Ooops! Keeping Nash busy is exhauuuusting. In this week's edition of The Best Week Ever we have a trip to West County so Nash could go cruising for girls with James
While Brook and Marji (with Keira and Maya)became spokespeople for JCPenney

We had a very sad goodbye to our super-fun friends Jen and Hailey who moved to Denver :(
Nash had fun drinking his "go-gurt" ... and getting just a liiiittle bit on his face,
then stormed the castle at CooperElla's,

promised his mommy and daddy he's never be a terrible driver, like 70% of the people in St. Louis,
and to finish off a day of furniture shopping, a fun dinner at Chili's, ordering a big dish of ice cream (just one spoon) and a margarita with extra salt!

Our friends and partners in slime, Marji and Maya, are away for two weeks! We should be getting a lot of important errands done. But so far there are no plans... :)
