Asleep on the changing table

This is what Margot's doing today... sleeping! A lot of it! She even fell asleep on the changing table! But it's only 1:30, and she's stirring a little big so maybe it's too early to say. She could be awake any minute for the next 5 hours. It could still be a long afternoon. Nash hasn't wanted to nap the last two afternoons so I was completely exhausted yesterday! Pulling my hair out by the time Ray came home from work (early) to comfort me :) I guess he just doesn't want to miss out on anything. I understand. I have a feeling maybe I was the same way? He cried himself to sleep today after 20 minutes. It kills me to hear him cry!! But I also need a little bit of a break during the day. That's ok, isn't it? Sigh. Anyway, I have some packing to do. Tomorrow we leave for Chicago!
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!

4 weeks old...

I've always loved this picture of me holding little Nash, now I have one for Margot too.

1 month check up

Two cuties

This is totally rediculous, I know. But won't it be fun when I can put home-made bows in her hair?

What a sweet little girl. I like her.

Every boy needs a trusty steed.

We went to the doctor this morning, Margot will be 5 weeks old on Friday! I can see her getting so much bigger. We think she's doing great, and her doctor agrees! She's 8 lbs. 14 oz., which is only 36%, but is still good. She's more like 60th % for height and head circumference. She's eating good and (fingers crossed) mostly sleeping through the night! She's still asleep a lot during the day too. Which does not necessarily give me more time to blog - as you can see. Yesterday I spent all afternoon cooking! It's nice to do a little bit of the things I like to do too, instead of spend all my time focusing on kids, and cleaning. I'm going to try and take a picture of Margot smiling in the next few days. She has such a pretty smile!
Our advisor from Parents As Teachers came yesterday and was pretty impressed with Nash. If you haven't seen Nash in a few months you probably don't know that one if his favorite things to say is "thank you". Positive feed-back does wonders. Every time he gets a toy or food or book or anything, he says thank you. He's also picking up bigger words. Yesterday it was "tissue". Anyway, he's awesome. We went to McDonald's today and got him a Happy Meal so we could get the Madagascar toy. I gave it to him and he said "hippo!" and I didn't even know he knew "hippo" it's so funny.

Pictures, but no words

Margot chillin in her hotsling. She digs it. I think.

"Mashy" and "Maahiel" as they call eachother- in the dogbed of love.

Now I'm going to nap!

Nash LOVES dancing to Mickey's Clubhouse... HOT DOG!

Nash is so into Mickey and friends, he wants to watch "Mouse" all day long. And it's only on for about half an hour in the morning. Also kinda funny, he doesn't understand commercials. "Why isn't Mouse on anymore?" I keep telling him that nobody likes commercials, except during the Superbowl. Anyway, after his nap we watch some fun videos on YouTube, including Mickey, and Nash dances his sleepies out.

I like wearing Daddy's Callaway hat! Can we go back this year?

Wink Wink! Mommy's trying to teach me how to wink, but so far I just make this funny face and open my mouth REAL wide!

Nash's box of stuffed animals. Wait a minute! What's Nash doing in there?!

A lot of pictures of Nash and none of Margot. I know. That's because she spent ALL DAY asleep yesterday!!! I mean she basically slept from 9:30 in the morning until 5:30 at night. We got Nash's haircut and went to Target and Sam's and got lunch at Chipotle. Then after Nash didn't nap, we hopped in the car and went to St. Charles and walked around historic maintstreet bundled up cause it was COLD outside. Margot was cozy, don't worry. She had planty of clothes and a hat on, and was wrapped against me in the Moby with my jacket and scarf over her too. Basically, I looked like I was 13 months pregnant. It was funny, she started crying at one point and the lady working in the shop we were in was VERY confused since it looked like I was pregnant, but she could hear the baby! When we got cold walking around we found a cozy little pub and had a beer while Nash played with a toy we brough for Margot.
And then she still slept last night!! I was sure we'd be awake all night long. But it wasn't bad at all. And today I feel pretty well rested.
We're about to venture out into the cold again, to Borders for a new book for Nashy (about trucks, he's into trucks) and then we should probably go to the grocery store, depending on how our little girl is doing.

Another great week

My family is amazing. I always feel this way. And I'm reminded every single day when I watch Margot open her eyes and look around, and watch Nash being such a big boy, so well behaved and so helpful and so full of love, and see Ray also loving every minute of it. Am I full of sentiment because this is such a special time? Yes. But I don't expect it to ever end either.
We spent a little time this week getting out of the house, practicing really, and trying to figure out how to manage Nash and Margot. I thought it would be hard, and I'm sure that time will come, but it wasn't. We voted, we went to play, we sat with friends and their kids and drank chai and made a trip to Target. It was another great week. We also had friends bringing us dinner and visiting. It's been great. And already Margot's 3 weeks old and I feel like I don't want to blink because I know she'll be big. After all, suddenly, Nash is HUGE.
Nap time, I should go take advantage. That's one thing I think I'll never get enough of. Now I know why people drink coffee.

Home Alone!

Well excuuuuuse me for not blogging! Trust me, I've been taking pictures and taking note of things to write about. But Ray's been home for 3 weeks and went back to work today, so we had a lot of last minute fun to get out of the way this weekend. We took Nash and Margot to Faust Park and Margot had her first carousel ride (in the Moby) on a sled, while Nash rode the horsey. Then Nash had a blast playing in the playground. I think he giggled for an hour straight. Here he is on the swing:

Of course it was Halloween and Nash was smashing in his turtle outfit...

as was Margot in her new poodle dress!

We've stopped wearing pajamas and sleepers all day long, and have gotten some beautiful gifts she's trying on! We LOVE this little outfit from Susan, which is still pretty big (even though it's 0-3 month size!) Thank you Susan!

Margot now has a beautiful little belly button showing, and you can tell she's getting bigger already. Nash has been really amazing. When he gives kisses goodnight he wants to give Margot one too. He goes to check on her when she's fussy and calls her "baby" and "gogo". Our little name for her is Emme Gogo (like M.E. for Margot Elise, and Gogo for what Nash calls her). I was really nervous about today, and being alone with the two, but we all slept well last night and this morning was really as good as I could have asked for. But what am I doing blogging ? I have two sleeping kids- it's time for my nap.
