Satisfaction
It's 1:30 and Nash is asleep and I'm helping Margot become a speedracer, and I'm feeling good. Margot has peas and carrots for lunch and Nash had carrots (he calls it carrot-sauce) blueberries, pumpkin seeds (which I'm trying to convice him are sprinkles!) and chicken fingers. I get frustrated with his eating sometimes. I know it's my fault and not Nash's that when he asks for snacks he means "fruit" gummis and not broccoli spears. But now that Margot has got a wide range of things she can eat and I'm cooking for 4 people, I'm re-thinking what I'm making for everyone. Gosh-darned those little packages of snacks that need no refrigeration, and those chicken nuggets you can pop in the microwave for a minute. Somehow these "convenience" food seem to make things more difficult for me these days. Anyway, I'm working on phasing out those dinosaur shaped frozen chicken nuggets and giving him the real deal. Half an hour later now, Margot's asleep and I'm going to collect some dry diapers off the deck and head downstairs to sew. One last thing, if you have any ideas about getting your kids to eat their veg, please let me know! I hate the idea of hiding it in their food.

Umm, I can't think of any real secrets to solve the vegi problem... I just give them a diff vegi every night at dinner, sometimes one at lunch and they usually eat it. So variety, offer often.
no suggestions from us- Cole gets his veggies from the tomatoe sauce in beefaroni! I know, totally gross, but he loves it. he sometimes eats green beans, but usually just throws them on the floor.
I agree with Brook - offer often and get used to throwing out a fair bit. I also have found that if I put the veggies on his plate before other things, he will often eat them. He's hungry when he sits down and will eat what's there. If I put it all on his plate at once, he'll choose the fruit or whatever first and never get to the veggies.
Lisa Barnes has 3 cookbooks with wonderful recipes designed for little ones. Jake loves everything from these books. Its called The Petit Appetit cookbook.
Dip! Gabe will eat anything if he gets to dip it in something - salsa, ranch, hummus, etc.
